Weston Rec
This is the big summer event for the Weston area, with fun and games on the Rec for everyone.
It starts with a special open-air service for all the churches in Weston and Newbridge. Everyone is welcome to come to the Weston Rec and enjoy worship together in the open air before the festival activities begin at 12noon.
Then there are lots of games you can take part in including volleyball, party games, boules and try your luck with the coconut shy. If you are feeling strong then gear up for the Mazda test of strength or join a team and heave away at the great tug-o-war. We will have a Kids’ Zone where they can enjoy blowing bubbles, bouncing on the bouncy castle and take part in the kids’ football and penalty shoot-out.
You can also bring your dog along to take part in the dog show or watch the police dog display team in action.
Go shopping at the local craft stalls and some will be doing demonstrations of their crafts. Browse the food stands for lots of food and drink including the barbecue and delicious ice cream. Visit the Filipino Village and watch the Filipino cultural dancers. You can also watch amazing cheerleaders or join in with some Zumba. Don’t forget to make your mark on the Great Weston Handprint Tableau and your dog too! A great day out for all the family!
