Wildlife Community Apples!

The Friends of the Orchard formed as a volunteer group in 2018 to represent the needs of the community who use the Orchard at Broadmoor Lane. We carry on the  community spirit of the now-retired Broadmoor Lane Residents’ Association. We are looking for volunteers to help with our regular sessions at the Orchard, usually held on Saturday mornings several times a year, but also to help with Apple Day, Wassail, Bat Walks, Wildlife monitoring and Summer Picnic. Activities include planting trees, shrubs, wildflowers and bulbs, scything, pruning apple trees and more.

We also need people to join our small friendly committee to help guide the improvement of the site, promote its use and volunteer and local community engagement. We are
very open to new ideas to help more people to engage with and benefit from this lovely treasured green space. Even if you can only offer a few hours a year, or one or two hours
per month, we would love to hear from you.
